How many times have we heard that you need a support system in place to achieve your goals. You want to eliminate all of the negative thoughts and concentrate on developing a positive mind set to stay motivated to reach your goals. When it comes to getting healthy through a combination of proper diet and regular exercise it is really difficult because we are bombarded day-in and day-out with advertising, both in print and on TV, from fast food restaurants and other pre-packaged processed foods that are not good for anyone trying to change to a healthy lifestyle.

And if the fast food ads are not enough every other ad on TV seems to be about some magic drug with an enticing name which promises to fix whatever ails you. Compare the number of these ads with the ads promoting eating real food or advocating the benefits of regular exercise. So what do we do – not watch TV? Of course not – what you need to do is you must feed your mind with information about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

If you want to succeed in your pursuit of a healthy and fit body you first step should be to develop the habit of reading books, magazines and blogs that fill your mind with benefits, routines, techniques and recipes for living well. I know it has worked for me. Just over a year ago I started this site with idea of not only helping others in pursuit of a healthy lifestyle but in getting myself to make positive long lasting changes to get healthy. Over the past year I’ve gone from 205lbs to 165lbs and feel great.

Feed Your Brain Lose Your BellyHow did I do it? Writing every day about living a healthy lifestyle, diets, fitness, nutrition, health and motivation made it all but impossible for me to not adopt the healthy living tips I was researching and writing about. The biggest single change I made was to eliminate sugar from my diet. If I buy any food product the first thing I do is read  the nutritional facts label and make sure the product contains little or no sugar. I do not buy anything with trans fat and severely restrict the amount of saturated fat.

One of the ways you can find blogs and websites to read everyday is to setup Google alerts that will be delivered to your in box daily and after a while you will find the blogs and sites you like the best. Visit these sites everyday and spend 15 to 30 minutes reading about various tips and techniques to get healthy. You’ll be surprised that after a while you will be compelled to alter your diet and begin a regular exercise program. You will be on your way to living a healthy lifestyle and will never look back.
